In this sequel to Sharktopus, two Piranhacondas hunt down their stolen egg. The scientist who stole the egg hitchikes the island and meets up with a movie crew on-set of filming. The star, the scientist, and some crew-members get kidnapped by some money-craving people who put them on ransom for some dough. Meanwhile, a Piranhaconda roams the island, along the way eating an island-goer, and some scientists searching for a rare flower.
The snake comes to the kidnappers' hideout and attacks. The crew and the scientist escape.
The lead kidnapper finds a camera and realizes that the scientist stole the egg, which caused the snake to attack, and he decides to kill the snake, and the crew. The snake follows the crew, who are in a truck, but is wounded by a grenade. The second Piranhaconda arrives and, sensing blood, attacks its wounded mate. It then decides to track down the crew. The scientist reveals that he had the egg, so they try to escape via boat. But the Piranhaconda stalls their. Of course this is not a good movie!
But what else did you expect from a movie called 'Piranhaconda', about an half snake, half piranha, that loves to crush and eat people. At least everyone in this movie knew what they got involved with and never took things too seriously. This is often a good thing and it at least still keeps the movie somewhat fun and tolerable to watch.
Basically all of these movies play out the same; a killer animal is on the loose and randomly kills a bunch of people you don't even care about, with always a guy and girl, who used to be or still are in love, trying to kill the creature. Really, once you have seen one of these Roger Corman/Syfy channel movies, you have seen them all and know actually how things are going to play out.
They don't even attempt anymore really to come up with some original moments. And it also seems that all of these movies got shot at the same locations, no doubt because they were the cheapest to film at.
It basically makes this movie just like any other one, that came out recently, done by Corman. People that enjoy movies will still get a kick out of it. There is plenty of cheese and camp to enjoy, coming from the hands of the actors and filmmakers.
It isn't trying to be more than it is and it makes no assumptions about it that this is being even a remotely good movie. The one thing that always stands out about these movies, in terms of horrible quality, are its special effects. I don't know who keeps doing these special effects from his mother's basement on his home computer but it's absolutely horrible and I sincerely hope they start putting some more money and effort into it in the near future, since it will most likely make the movies less annoying and cringing to watch. And I really don't know what Michael Madsen is doing in this. He got top billing, probably because of his name and fame but in fact he is only being a supporting character, that could had been played by anybody really. Only somewhat watchable and enjoyable if you like cheesy bad movies.
Everybody else will only be annoyed and amazed at how bad this movie in fact is. 4/10 http://bobafett1138.blogspot.com/.
Contents.Plot On a Hawaiian island, Professor Lovegrove, and a group of scientists are researching eggs that belong to two piranha/anaconda hybrids. However, one of the snakes kills all of the scientists except for Lovegrove, who escapes into the jungle. Meanwhile, a film crew on the island is in the middle of filming a slasher movie. Several crew wander off, and are killed by the snakes before director Milo, lead actress Kimmy Weston, scriptwriter Rose, her stuntman boyfriend Jack, and pyro tech expert Gunner are captured by a group of criminals led by Pike, and his girlfriend Talia, and held for ransom in an abandoned mill, along with Lovegrove, whom the criminals had discovered wandering the jungle earlier. Jack, and Gunner manage to escape, and systematically take out a few of the criminals before placing Gunner's explosives around the mill as a diversion to rescue the hostages.
During the escape, Milo steals a gun, and stays behind as a distraction so the others can escape. The group reaches a car, and one of the snakes soon arrives, and kills Talia. Gunner detonates the explosives, only to be killed by a stray bullet moments later. Jack, Rose, Lovegrove, and Kimmy drive off, and are chased by Pike, who shoots a bazooka at the car, although Jack swerves off the road, causing to rocket to hit, and kill one of the snakes instead; the group soon runs out of gas, and resolves to reach a marina nearby.
Meanwhile, Milo escapes the mill, and encounters a girl whose fiancee was previously killed by the snake; both are then killed shortly afterward. At the marina, the group finds a working boat, but Jack plans to kill the remaining snake by luring it into the explosive-filled car. However, the criminals soon arrive, although the snake does too, killing all of the criminals, including Pike. Kimmy runs inside the car to get the detonator for the explosives, although the snake kills her before she can activate it. An injured Jack has Rose, and Lovegrove escape on the boat while he stays behind to distract the snake.
On the boat, Rose discovers that Lovegrove is in possession of an egg belonging to the snake, which is why it is chasing them; as the snake pursues them underwater, Rose pushes Lovegrove off the boat, and he is eaten. She reaches land, and reunites with Jack, who attaches an explosive to the egg container before they lure the snake over to a waterfall, throwing the container into its mouth before the explosive detonates, and killing it. Syd Wilder as VickyProduction The film was written by Mike MacLean, who had written and a number of scripts for. Corman hired him to write the film.MacLean said 'I learned from Roger that a cable movie is a different animal than a theatrical release. First and foremost, cable movies must be faster-paced. With a theatrical release, the audience has driven to the mall, bought a ticket, and fought the crowds for a seat. They've made an investment in the viewing experience, so they're not walking out on the film if it's pacing is a bit leisurely. A cable movie audience has the remote within reach.
So you have to keep things moving, which means showing the creature soon and often.' MacLean added that 'these films must have an element of comedic irony. The effects still can't compete with the big studio blockbusters.
So they're has to be a comedic undercurrent to the story. Audiences are more likely to accept a less-than-realistic effect if they know they're laughing with the filmmakers.'
